Position: Producer & Designer

Concept Statement & Experience Goals: Elderly Care Facility aims to create a healing experience in which players build emotional connections with elderlies in the care facility to learn more about Grandma Ling, who passed away from Alzheimer's. The stories in the memories of Ling and her friends in the care facility will unfold as players interact with elderlies in each room. The narrative will end with the protagonist's reflections on her relationship with her granddaughter before she approaches her own death.

Player Role and Objectives:

Players will play as a protagonist whose grandma Ling passed away from Alzheimer's after spending her last years in the elderly care facility. The player will search for items from the fragmented timeline spaces embedded in Grandma's diary, then give the correct items and talk to elderlies in each room to learn about their memories with Ling. Through interactions with older people in the three rooms, players will learn about grandma's friendship in the care facility, her love for gardening in the town before she moved to the care facility, stories in her hometown, and her dreams and passions when she was young. After the player completes the narrative tasks in all the rooms, the player will achieve the ending: the protagonist's regret and sorrow are relieved in the elderly care facility that appears in her memory when she approaches death. Her regret of not being by her grandma Ling's side and her fear of repeating this loop of regret in her next generation are resolved with warmth when her own granddaughter comes to visit her with love and care.
